Establishment of Use Districts
See
§ 160-7: Boundaries established for detailed district boundaries.
Zoning Map.
The aforesaid use districts are bounded as shown on a map entitled "Zoning Map, Town of Jerusalem," adopted and certified by the Town Clerk, which accompanies this chapter and which, with all explanatory matter therein, is made a part thereof.
Interpretation of boundaries.
A. Where boundaries are indicated as approximately following the center line of streets or highways, such center line shall be construed to be such boundaries. Boundaries indicated as following shorelines of streams, lakes, reservoirs or ponds shall be construed to follow such shorelines and, in the event of change in such shoreline, shall be construed as moving with the natural shoreline.
B. Where boundaries are so indicated that they approximately follow lot lines or fence lines of a parcel of land, such lot lines or fence lines shall be construed to be such boundaries.
C. Where boundaries do not appear to follow lot lines or fence lines within a parcel of land but do appear to be approximately parallel to street lines or highways, such boundaries shall be construed as being parallel thereto at such distance therefrom as indicated on the Zoning Map.
Lots in two use districts.
Where a use district boundary divides a lot, the uses and the regulations of the less restricted portion of the lot may be extended not more than 50 feet into the more restricted portion, provided that the lot has frontage on a street in the less restricted district.
